Key Documents

In January the Treasurer, the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, announced an Inquiry into Future Directions for the Consumer Data Right (the Inquiry), to be led by Mr Scott Farrell. The Terms of Reference for the Inquiry are available on the Treasury website.

On 6 March 2020, the Inquiry released an Issues Paper for consultation.

The Inquiry is looking at how the Consumer Data Right could be enhanced and leveraged to boost innovation and competition, and support the development of a safe and efficient digital economy, benefiting Australians and Australia. This includes examining how the Consumer Data Right could be expanded to include ‘write’ access.
