The Licensing Taskforce is considering a licensing regime for the franchising sector.
We welcome views on:
- whether to create a regime
- how to address harms in the sector
- how a regime can work.
This paper outlines elements a regime can include:
- regulatory oversight
- information disclosure
- education and resources
- dispute resolution
- business model preconditions.
The government set up the Taskforce in response to a recommendation from the Independent Review of the Franchising Code of Conduct.
