Consultation period: 5 June to 18 June 2025
We seek views on the proposed cost recovery fees framework under the new merger system.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) will review certain mergers. Parties who notify these mergers to the ACCC will pay fees. The type of review determines the fee amount.
Fees help recover the costs of running reviews. This helps the ACCC perform its new decision‑making role. The joint Treasury and ACCC consultation paper gives more information.
Your feedback will help finalise advice to government.
This follows the enactment of the Mergers and Acquisitions Reform Act 2024.
