On 25 July 2010, the Prime Minister announced the Protecting Workers' Entitlements package which included the Government's election commitments: to provide ASIC with an administrative power to wind up companies.
The Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer has released an exposure draft of the Corporations Amendment (Phoenixing and Other Measures) Bill 2012. This Bill implements that election commitments as well as creating a regulation making power for the publication of external administration notices and other miscellaneous amendments.
